Door Inspection Checklist
During the inspection, the doors will be lubricated, balanced, adjusted, and the following items checked:
- Rollers – bearing wear
- Hinges – cracks
- Top fixtures – adjust for no gap at top of door
- Bottom fixtures – cable attachment
- Sections – damage and stress cracks
- Cables – fraying and kinking
- Cable drums – wear, proper adjustment to level the door
- Torsion shaft, head plates and bearings – wear and alignment
- Spring pad – securely fastened to building structure
- Torsion springs – adjust for section weight balance
- Track – properly spaced, aligned and secured to building structure
- Perimeter weather seals – wear, contact with door and floor
- Electric operator – limit adjustment, drive belt, drive chain lubrication and adjustment
- Manual chain hoist operator - drive chain lubrication and adjustment, wall bracket
- Emergency chain hoist on electric operator – release, lockout and function
- All fasteners – securely tightened
Replacement of worn parts will be quoted for approval.
Management will be immediately notified of critical needs or safety issues.

Dock Leveler Inspection Checklist
The unit will be lubricated and the following items will be checked:
- Deck, Lip, and Hinges – damage, stress cracks
- Leveler pit – debris removal
- Maintenance stand – a critical safety item
- Toe guards – damage, function
- Curb angles – welds and concrete attachment
- Below dock operation – safety support legs and release chain
- Dock bumpers – wear and attachment
- Weather seals – if installed
Mechanical Leveler
- Deck lift springs – adjust if necessary
- Holddown mechanism – function, release chain
- Lip extension mechanism – adjust if necessary
Hydraulic Leveler
- Operator control – function
- Power unit – operation, fluid level
- Cylinders and hoses – leakage, deterioration, and wear
Air Bag Leveler
- Operator control – function
- Blower – operation
- Airbag and hoses – damage, deterioration, and wear
- Lip extension mechanism – adjust if necessary
Vehicle Restraint
- Operator controls – function
- Traffic lights and warning signs – bulbs and lenses
- Power unit – proper function
- Hook mechanism – damage, lubrication
- Mounting Fasteners – tightness
- Covers – damage, fasteners
Replacement of worn parts will be quoted for approval.
